Yep, says "Late" 1980 saw the official production release of the GSX1100S Katana, closely resembled the prototype that had done the rounds in the show circuit... Over here a "late" 1980 production will be a 1981 yr. model, and ours were GS "1000" S Katanas, we didn't get the 1100 Kats till "82". Many of our 1000 Kats have a mfg. date of 7/ "80" through 12/ "80", but all registered as "81" models... Thinking there were probably none of our 1000 Kats with a mfg date later than 7 / 81.

Those Suzuki fairings fit a lot of Suzuki's. I have one on my back. I have the Lockhart Lowers specific to my bike. I just have to finish painting them. Your bike is smashing, and quite right!

Clocks are GS1000 but with a GPS speedo.
It's a long way from being a show piece but it's done a lot of miles inc around 10 trips to the Paul Ricard circuit for the Bol D'Or that used to be my annual summer holiday, sadly my knees/back/wrists etc are no longer up to hours in the saddle :-(
Did the '80' box aluminum swinger fit in the '70s gs750 frame without spreading the frame tubes for passenger footpegs? And did you use same or same length shocks (331mm)??

I think the '70s gs750 and gs1000 steel swinger is same length as the 80's gs11 box aluminum swinger and for sure all those shocks are 331mm
