That jet needle looks beat to Hell. Never seen one like that, what causes it?

Yes, but no sign of dynojet parts and not what I was buying.

I know that parts wear out due to vibration . I have some small marks on my needles but they are tiny.

If you want to go this way, I have a set of stock 750E needles, slides and diaphragms in good shape I would trade for those if they are similar enough to the DJ 650 needles to use in my 550/675 engine.

Send a PM please if you are interested.

$85 not a whole lot, but I am on a fixed income and have to sell some parts to make up for it.

To be fair, I did receive a reply, here it is.

Honestly man, I just re-read your email on here, and I had no idea they were messed up. I don't remember if those came with the bike, or if they were the ones I purchased from a member. I had two sets of spare carbs because I was putting together a bike. Those carbs went on the bike when I got them, just like the others, and the bike started and ran, so I don't know what to say. Then I dipped them in Berrymans, like everyone does on this site. I don't want you to feel like you got screwed, so help me out here. What can I do to fix this?[/QUOTE]

I sent him an answer to replace or refund. As I told him, don't know how you can dip carbs and not know about the problems such as these have.

                        the old saying applies here...
if it seems to good to be true....it is.
the parts i sell are not dirt cheap or cheap in general for the most part but i represent them to the best of my ability's.
the OP/buyer did nothing wrong...the seller misrepresented what he had.
get a refund and move on.
                        good luck.

I have the feeling a lot of people think "cleaning and dipping" the carbs means to dip the complete, unassembled carb in solution and brush off the outside.

I am not proud of the used parts that I sell, but they are normally cleaned and always inspected before offering them. I sell them at a reasonable price {what most would consider cheap}.

I did make a mistake once and sent the wrong part, was informed about it and sent the right part only to have it disappear somewhere in the Texas postal system. I refunded the money with apologies.

                              Welll.............

Did you receive your refund? Is he paying the shipping costs back?
If the carbs were dipped PROPERLY, as you've pointed out, all of these problems would've been evident. AND, if A PERSON were to do so PROPERLY, wouldn't you COMPLETELY clean all of the passages, bowls, remove all jets and needles? And THEN, re-assemble the carbs using new O-rings, AT THE VERY LEAST? Which would lead me to believe $85.00 is a RIDICULOUSLY low price for a SET of carbs. From my OWN experience, it takes me about 2 hours to clean and re-assemble a carb using new O-rings, etc. And that's AFTER disassembly, 2 hour minimum dip, washing, and completely drying them. But hey, I'm meticulous about how CLEAN mechanical devices need to be BEFORE being put back together. As I've grown fond of saying.......... If Cleanliness is next to Godliness, then when it comes to Engines and Especially Carburetors, Cleanliness IS Godliness!

My 2 cents worth.............. I know...... I tend to run off at the fingers....

Have not heard back since his last.

I did not expect the carbs to be clean, that is why I pulled them apart. I inspect all used parts that I buy before using. There are a quite a few fellow members that actually clean up stuff before sending and give an accurate description as well.
