    New to the forum.

Today was Day 1 of restoring a recently acquired 1980 GS1100E. Carbs & tank removed for cleaning.

Bike is complete and in decent shape, but hasn't been started for about 10 years. Looking forward to this project.

Looks like you've got a nice starting point. Good luck and welcome.

When consulting the magic 8 ball for advice, one must first ask it "will your answers be accurate?"

        Welcome to GSR.

What we see looks like shiney stock condition.
One end of exhaust looks like it did some pavement surfing, but se other evidence of it.

        Do keep us posted.

Yes, 44K and all stock. Purchased new and well cared for by my father-in-law. Slight rash on exhaust and a couple of other minor bits from a wobble that didn't end quite as well as it could have. All in all, it appears to be very solid, aside from the aged braking system. Needs some TLC and a thorough going through.

          Thanks, Mike
