!985 gs550es problems

hell everyone, i am new to the gs forum and would like some help with my old bike. first thing is that the starter drags when the bike gets nice and warm. I was told that the valves could need to be adjusted since i just rebuilt the starter but i am not sure. Second thing is that last night the bike all of a sudden decided it wanted to start leaking fuel out of the air box. this bike has been repainted so i have no idea on where the on position of the petcock is and where the prime position is. any and all help on this bike would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance

i have cleaned the carbs. how do you test the petcock.
