I stopped at my parents after work today and took some pics. Added them to the first post. Counted the VC bolts, but only counted 16. Must have not seen any. It's cold here so I did a quick count. Must have only counted the bolts along each cam hump. 8 on each cam. Guessing 4 in between?

Only other thing I can say about it is it did have the TSCC plate and electronic ignition(not points)

Overall, I think a good clean up would do wonders for it, but still needs some TLC for sure

that is an 80/81 engine or at least the head is.
i would just assume it's an 80/81 engine that got swapped in.
        oh,
if you count the four bolts on the VC corners that would make 20 total.
i can't count them from the picture but i see the layout and that tells me it's a 20 bolt VC.
OMG get that girl inside, covered, and warm man! lol

I guess I don't remember him ever saying it was a 93. Thought he said "katana" engine though. Who knows. It doesn't really matter that much I don't suppose. Was still a lot of fun. iI had some larger Mechanical opening carbs installed, I want to say 90mm??

33mm round slides was common back then.
if they had pumps then maybe 34/36mm RS mikuni's was getting hot and are still very popular

Lol...I was laying in bed when I wrote that post, and right after I posted I realized 90mm was way too big. I know they were larger than stock, 36mm sound right. I don't remember if they had a pump or not. A local guy I had tune it sold them to me and tuned them. Ran great with them
