Original owner GS1000
Hi Everyone, I'm the original owner of a 1979 GS1000E. Traded a "Water Buffalo" for it. And before that I had a GT550. So I have been a Suzuki owner for four decades. Lurking for a while and decided to join. Great information on here. I live in Colorado and ride Lookout Mountain, just west of Denver, very often. Here's my lightly modified Suzuki:

When consulting the magic 8 ball for advice, one must first ask it "will your answers be accurate?"

You're the first and only owner of the 1000e? You traded the 'Water Buffalo" to the Suzi dealer for it? Yikes! You must be almost as old as me!
Welcome aboard.1982 GS1100E V&H "SS" exhaust, APE pods, 1150 oil cooler, 140 speedo, 99.3 rear wheel HP, black engine, '83 red

Welcome aboard. Personally, I've been through a bunch of GS's but always held on to my Buffalo.
How many miles on your E?Common sense has become so uncommon that I consider it a super power.
Present Stable includes:
'74 GT750 Resto-mod I've owned since '79
'83 GS1100E (The best E I've ever enjoyed, Joe Nardy's former bike)
'82 GS1100G Resto project

Nice bike. Pit Replicas has an exact copy of the seat cover. They make them from samples folks send them. For many years here more and more E model bikes needed seats so I sent them an old cover i had to be replicated. When you go to the website just be sure to get the STEPPED cover. The 1000C uses the same pattern but its a flat seat..thus no raised back section.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)
1978 GS 1000 E, 1979 GS 1000 S, 1973 Yamaha TX 750, 1977 Kawasaki KZ 650B1, 1975 Honda GL1000 Goldwing, 1983 CB 650SC Nighthawk, 1972 Honda CB 350K4, 74 Honda CB550
NEVER SNEAK UP ON A SLEEPING DOG..NOT EVEN YOUR OWN.
I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.

NOTE that this description says its the flat seat cover. I looked ( and may have overlooked it ) but the stepped seat is the one TC made from my example supplied. ( Dont know why he would list a 78 1000E in a flat seat cover description seeing that it is a step seat ).
So, if you order one, I would email TC and tell him you want the 78 1000E STEPPED cover before actually making the purchase. That way youre both on the same page. I have some comparison pics some place and will see if I can find them and post up.
