    Finally Back on the Road!

It's 71 degrees in Iowa today, and I was able to tie up a few loose ends on my bike over the last couple of days, so I was finally able to ride my 1980 GS750 to work today. I bought this bike last summer, and worked on it here and there when I had time. It was setting in a guy's shop for the last couple of years, and must have been setting outside prior to that (had some corrosion here and there on a lot of the bolts and nuts).

The bike had a Vance and Hines header, Accel coils and wires, and a K&N air filter installed when I got it (stock airbox). It had also been painted at one point as the original color was blue. I rebuilt the carburetors, all three brake calipers and the master cylinders, installed new tires and stainless steel brake lines (photo taken before brake line install), installed a new battery and cables, cleaned up a lot of the bolts, and added fresh oil and an oil filter. The bike is a blast to ride, and sounds pretty mean with the header. I still have a few cosmetic issues to take care of, but all in all it's nice to be able to bring another one back to life.

When consulting the magic 8 ball for advice, one must first ask it "will your answers be accurate?"

                Nice.

What was done to the wheels?
                ....Blasted and painted?

Thanks guys. The wheels were media blasted (plastic media), and then actually sprayed with Duplicolor's wheel paint in silver. My original plan was to blast them, and then clear over the raw aluminum, but there were too many imperfections / discolorations for me to be happy with them. The Duplicolor paint actually works really well as long as you're patient, and put on several even coats.

Looks lovely, good to hear its back on the road. It the UK these were badged as GSX750's, interesting as only int he states did they not change the name. I remember when these came out, very quick and quite brutal looking.
