New GS650GL project
Just bought my first bike, an 82 GS650GL that's in desperate need of some TLC. 17K miles on it. Having some issues starting it up and getting it to idle without the choke staying on, and apparently is running pretty rich according to my dad. Just took it out and around the other day and pretty sure the battery died on me. Realized the bike needs some serious work before I can begin riding it all over town, and I've got some serious learning to do. If there's anyone in the Akron, Ohio area that would appreciate taking a young whipper snapper under their wing and lending a hand every now and again as I fix this thing up, I'd GREATLY appreciate it! I don't have the mechanical know how to tackle this thing all alone. Really glad I found this forum and am looking forward to reviving my bike and keeping it's legacy going.

Congrats on your bike! I would definitely recommend checking the date codes on those tires. I think it's been quite awhile since Dunlop made that particular model.
