83 gs 750 es
Hello, I'm new to the forum here. Having been away from riding for many years (my last bike was an 83 GPZ 1100 bought new in 83...)...I just picked up an 83 GS 750. The bike is in pretty good shape but I plan on tearing it down and making some modifications. Can anyone suggest resources for performance parts...cams, pipes, etc.? Most of the body plastic is good but I may want to try and find side covers that are a little better than mine (some of the mounting posts are broken). It's great that there's a forum for these bikes, I'm happy to be aboard.

These were not a popular model for aftermarket parts, very rare if you can find any used, nothing made new anymore. Are the sidecover posts the top (fuel tank) ones? When fixed they usually break again due to the seat pushing down on them. I've used velcro on that location for years, two large pieces on each side works really well. Early oil-cooled gsxr motors fit in these with homemade engine mounts. This is mine, owned since new.Dee Durant '83 750es (Overly molested...) '88 gl1500 (Yep, a wing...)

Scott, welcome from a fellow NJ rider. There are threads here somewhere for tab repair.sigpic
When consulting the magic 8 ball for advice, one must first ask it "will your answers be accurate?"
