New member and new GS owner from Montreal,

    Hi there,

Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Jeff, I'm 47, been riding since I was 18 and happily just bought a beautiful, perfectly running (bought it from a bike mechanic who had redone the bike for himself) 1979 GS 850 slightly modified (aesthetics) who purrs like a well balanced and properly tuned-up Suzuki! Literally, just plugged in the battery and the bike was running, and that was at 1 degree Celsius! can't wait till spring!

I'm from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Winter has finally arrived here, so I guess I'll be looking at the bike sitting on the patio for the next few months

Here's a few pics of my new ride!

    Hi Jeff and welcome.
Nice clean looking machine. Many happy miles and safe arrivals.

We don't have winter in Ireland but I am sure some here will have good advice about protecting the bike from the elements and fuel deterioration and what you could do to hit the ground running in the spring.

Nice looking ride Jeff. I really like what the PO did to the front and rear fenders. I am sure you will enjoy your new ride come spring and welcome to GSR.

              Hey Guys,

Thanks for the info, the bike cliff is brilliant! thanks for the link. I'm gonna be making some aesthetic changes to the bike to give it a racer style. With that, I'll have 2 bike styles for the same machine! Spring is gonna take forever!
