Another New GS Owner How's Everybody Doing Thread

    Hey All -

New guy here. I recently picked up a 1977 GS750 here in SD (San Diego). It needs a lot of work, but I got a great deal on it. Almost everything original is there, except for the seat. I removed the mirrors so that they don't get bent while the bikes getting worked on.

    Here she is:

    A bit about myself:

I learned to ride dirt bikes and wrench when I was a kid. First street bike was a 2003 CBR600RR. Sold that in 2007, and in 2009, I picked up a CBR1000RR. I still have my street bike, and love it, but riding my CBR on the street isn't as fun as it used to be. Looking to pick up an "adventure" bike at some point, but for now, I've got my GS

Looking forward to meeting members on here, and contributing to the community. There's a wealth of information on this site, and it was one of the main reasons I picked up a GS. Thanks guys!

Going for the bare bones old school og superbike resto mod look, after I get her running good. Something like this:

          Welcome to the site, LA.
You have set some lofty goals for your project.
          Looks like a GS1000 tailpiece.

Thanks, Steve. Yes, it's definitely going to be a big project. I don't want to spend too much money on it, so I'm hoping to use a combination of Suzuki parts from other bikes to keep costs down.

You're right about the GS1000 tailpiece. I haven't had much luck finding pics of a GS750 resto custom. It seems like the only examples I've been able to find are those of a GS1000. But yeah, I'm going to keep the GS750 tail and tank. I need to get started on the carbs, and go from there.

I was reading a few threads about a member on here who has an o-ring kit for the GS carbs. Is he still around?
