    Hey there I'm Chillbuds (Alex),

This is Ol' Blue AKA Betsy
    We figure she is a 1979 GS750LN

She is a bit of a family heirloom. At first my Uncle took care of her, then my Cousin, then my Father now Myself. She has taught me (and a few of my friends) to ride and she has treated us well. We have been working on her since I was little. I like to think the times spent with my Dad fixing Betsy had given me the mechanical aptitude that lead me to become a heavy duty mechanic. She is most certainly loved so I think it would be about time to get her in tip top shape.

So far (during my involvement) we have:
    • Replaced the stock points with electronic ignition
    • Disassembled and cleaned the carbs (leaving the fuel screws alone)
    • Replaced the intake o-rings
    • Balanced the carbs

In the near future I'm planning to:
    • Replace the fuel petcock with a new one
    • Do a valve height adjustment
    • Rebuild the front master brake cylinder
    • Replace the brake lines
    • Seal the air box

I think that'll pretty well get me to a solid baseline where I can determine if I need any more repairs to get her working soundly.

The vast amount of information this community has managed to assemble has made it possible for me to do the work on Ol' Blue so far. I'd like to say thank you and I hope I can bring something use full to the table.

    Excellent intro, Alex.
Working on motorcycles is a great way to have spent time with your father.
    Welcome to the site.
