Another colonial newbie
Hi there from Western Australia. I have a couple of GS1000STs, one red/white, ex 'barn-find', and one black that used to be blue/white, by evidence of the underside of the seat and inside of the side covers. For anyone collecting serial numbers, Kiwi Canuck?, the red/white one is engine - GS1000150778, frame GS1000533453, and the other one is engine - GS1000150761 and frame, GS1000533471. Both have the rearset foot pegs so I am reasonable comfortable that they are both correct and genuine. Both were Australian complianced in August 1980.
