Gday used to hang around here a few years back when I was working on my project GS1000ET.
The GS is alive and kicking with it's new owner and I have just picked up a parts GSX400EG, which was too good to part out.
The PO had issues with starter motor, so they pulled the cam chain tensioner to get it out and forgot to put it back on when they tried to start it.
So after a bit of time retiming the cams and replacing the starter solenoid it goes.
It idles nice and smooth, so I don't think it has bent valves. It does smoke a bit on over-run so I suspect the valve seals are a little hard.
The plan is to change the oil and filter and put some 'stop smoke' in it and see how it looks.
if it comes right then I have a couple of lads who are keen to help tidy it up.
i will post pictures when I remember how.
