    Just bought a 1980 GSX750E

Hello everyone, just picked it up, 600.00$usd! It's my first motorcycle and I'm gonna learn on it! I have maybe 20 minutes of riding experience before I hopped on my GS, felt pretty comfy riding it up and down my street. It's an awesome bike. Going to motorcycle safety class some time soon when I get home from work trip. I'm here to learn and find out everything I can. I live in Anchorage Alaska and fix airplanes. Glad to have found this forum seems like it will be a great resource!
I don't know much about my bike yet as I've owned it for about a week. I heard from previous owner he's been running AMSOIL 10w40 synthetic and the owner before that jetted the carbs, but so far it's been running really well after sitting un-ridden in a garage for the last 2 years, the speedo reads a little over 20k miles and it's got a rear sprocket that adds top end speed. That's about all I know!

Thanks guys, took it out for a spin around the neighborhoods near my house, brought it up to 55 on one of the main streets rides like a dream. Can't stop thinking about riding it again, this work trip is lasting too long!

            Welcome!

My good friend MrBill has the same year bike as yours! Very nice price for an operational bike.

I know the feeling about riding it at 55. Of course, you can go faster but moving at that speed on a bike like this is simply awesome!

Please let us know how you progress.

The speed limit was 45 and I'm not about to get pulled over on it without that M on my license 😂 I've already had people come up to me and look at and compliment the bike as I was driving it home with it in the back of my truck. Been looking for bikes where I work in California and can't find anything near as good a deal as I found on this bike.
