    Real surprise

When my son was 16 he had a small Yamaha rx100 to learn on later he moved onto a car and never passed his test on a bike. Yesterday at the age of 38 he showed up on a new suzuki gsx750 passed the first part of test 2 weeks ago then passed the test last week was a really nice surprise yesterday we had a ride to Glasson Dock.

The big guy up there rides a Suzuki (this I know)

I thought y'all had a tiered licensing system over there.

It's complicated, and confuses the hell out of me. Your age plays a large part - if you're over 24 it's a bit simpler.

When I did my test you just had to ride round a bit and do an emergency stop. If you didn't fall off or hit the examiner, you'd pass.

Wasn't much harder 20 something years ago. Quick ride around the block, emergency stop, few manoeuvres in the road and all done. Thankfully my Yamaha YB100 wasn't deemed quick enough to go on the main A road here in Plymouth so passed first go.
