I put a home-made two-up seat, replaced the tank with one from a GS850 and added a head light and speedo. I also replaced those old corroded wheels and shortened the exhaust pipe. The Stator Papers and carb cleaning pages from GSR were invaluable. My wife and I had quite a few fun rides on her for the next three years. I even rode it from Seattle to Sturgis and back in 2015. The bike's been very reliable and a lot of fun. In fall of 2016, the tank started leaking. So I replaced it with a used tank from a 85 GS700E and because of the size and shape of the new tank, I decided to make a few changes to go along with the new lines. I just completed the changes this year. I've tried posting an after photo, but apparently because I'm a newbie I can only upload one photo per post. Here is a list of some of the upgrades:
Minor frame bracing
1988 Katana 1100 front forks with fork brace
1988 Katana wheels
Customized Hayabusa exhaust
Hayabusa rearsets
Re-jet kit for pods and new exhaust
530 conversion
ZX6C aluminum swing arm with new bearings.
New compact Gel battery
Clip-ons
Custom front fairing stay, fairing & head lights
Custom seat cowl (made from the GS850 tank)
