    Howdy y'all

    Hi
After years of coveting gs's since I was a mid teen I was fortunate to find a 1982 gs1100e (barn find) the advert said. Infact it was a rebuild ken from wales had done and left in his aircon garage. Snapped it up i did. After some fettling and a new paint job (the banana yellow wasnt my thing) i got her back on the road. Smiley faces all round every time i cock my leg over her until 4 weeks ago when some 17yo THING in a 2018 merc amg thought he was on gta5 and rear ended me. She spilled over on her near side with me still on her. So sad faced me now has her in the garage hoping carol Nash won't write her off. So today I have my gs and therefore I say happy New year to all.

Sorry to hear your sad story. Welcom to GSR and I hope it all works out for you. The closest I ever got to Durham was a trip douwn the A68 a few years ago. Pretty liquid that day......

Welcome to TheGSR. Thanks for the introduction.

Ew, not a good thing. Well, good that your story didnt seem to involve any ambulances.
      Do give an update.

Those darn EMTs! They never let you pick your bike right up.

Yeah as soon as the cops had turned up I had her back up and on her feet again. Sad thing is they didn't even investigate the driver. Typical of British bobbies of today.

I don't know if you are aware that there is an GS owners group in the UK on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/groups/uksuzukigsowners/ They may be able to help with parts for your bike.

Thanks charlie, I have a distinct dislike of Facebook.
Unfortunately I think that particular social media can be at times quite damaging. Helpful at times for some, but mainly it's full of ads and selfies. Not my thing.

I will have to ask my lad to look. Cheers for the tip

I'm the same way, which is why I enjoy forums like this one. They're much more useful & informative than they are giddy & senseless. I like facts laced with opinions & light ribbing. However, Facebook can be flat out nonsense at times.

Glad you got your bike back BTW!

Some good news. The insurance company rep said he will recommend that the bike be repaired. So here goes the winter project 😁

Being hit from behind is not a good feeling.

It is good to see you came out of it with no injuries to you, or lasting injury to the bike.

Ask the forum for any advice or parts you need. This really is a resource forum

                            Wow!

Glad you are ok. Terrible to see the bike laying on its side.
