    New member from northeast england

Hi this is my first post on this forum and just wanted to say hello and give a quick introduction.
My name is Trev and I have recently retired after working for the past 39 years as a teacher of young people with special needs. I have been a biker since 1974 and passed my test the following year. In total I must have owned 30 + bikes of all makes over the years. I have recently purchased a ‘77 gs 750. I owned one back in 1980 and toured Europe on it with my girlfriend now my wife. The bike is original and not in bad condition for its age. It does have a few issues with fuelling ( no surprise there ) and although I have worked on quite a few bikes I have owned I see wrenching as a continuous learning process and reckon this forum should be valuable in owners experiences and knowledge.
Any way I have a brake part missing and need some advice. I will post in the brakes section - please have look.
    Cheers.

If you're on Facebook there is a great GS group here:

A group for Suzuki GS owners located in the United Kingdom, who own or are interested in the GS series of Suzukis manufactured between 1977 and 1984. This includes the GS550, GS750, GS850, GS1000,...

Good luck and hope to see a few pictures of your 750 soon.....

        Hello Trevor!

        Is "Yarm" short for "Yarmouth"?

I like 750s...I have one myself...from 1982. I started riding in 2011...after I retired from the US Military. I lived in England from 1989 until 1993 and married a Scottish girl who's family moved from Coatbridge, Scotland to England when she was a baby.

I haven't checked out the other thread for your missing part...hopefully, you post pics of your bike!

You'll get lots of help around here.

        GSX-R750Y (Sold)

my opinion shouldn't be taken as gospel or in any way that would lead you to believe otherwise (30Sep2021)

Thanks for the warm welcome. Seems a really good forum. I am looking for the retaining disc that is screwed to the fixed brake pad. Searched all over the Internet without any luck. It does not carry a parts number on the parts diagram which is strange because it must be a part common to many gs brake calipers.
          Thanks again .Trev.
