Well, that stinks. I had to Google your location...northern Baltimore is where you are at.
We visit Fells Point and the area surrounding.
I hope you find a replacement if you don't get your bike returned.

Yup, that's my area. It's a really good neighborhood but we do get outsiders coming in and doing *@%^$*@%^$*@%^$*@%^$ like this. There also seems to be a group going around Baltimore targeting motorcycles and scooters. I've been seeing a lot of stolen ride post on SM from people I know all over the city. So keep your rides safe, y'all.
My Dads got a loaner I can ride for the rest of the season while I figure out what to do. It's a Buell though...Last edited by Guest; 09-08-2019, 09:41 PM.

My son's car got stolen last week. Police found it in two days and it was remarkably unharmed. The police towed it to an impound yard though. Once he coughed up $500 for the tow fee, he got the car back. Minor damage to a skid plate underneath and some trash to clean out is all.
I hope your bike situation produces the same results. Located, returned and life goes on.
If not, enjoy the Buell for a while.Roger

My sympathies. I had a sweet '81 Yamaha Exciter stolen in Oregon. Off of federal property with me sleeping 30 ft away, with no key they coasted it in neutral down a 12 mile mountain, dumped it off a cliff and then came back and picked it up the next day (from what I could deduce from the tracks). We had security cameras and they got the plate number of a stolen vehicle registered to a dead person. perfect! the sheriffs still served warrants on some suspects but the bike never surfaced. the cops are totally outnumbered by meth heads in southern Oregon. The only candy red '81 Yamaha exciter in 400 miles, maybe all of Oregon. 4000 original miles. man. I resurrected that thing. I posted fliers everywhere. all the gas stations, motorcycle repair shops (I figure the thieves would need a new ignition set). I have the worst kind of thoughts about horse thieves like them. They risked their lives for an $800 motorcycle that doesn't go faster than 62 MPH? I should take it as a compliment that I made that bike so awesome someone risked death to steal it. I can only hope it's being used on a pot farm.exciter.jpg
Check out the junk yards/tow companies in case they towed it. good luck.Last edited by Oggy; 09-09-2019, 12:08 AM.

Oh, Oggy! Our stories have lots of similarities.
-It was stolen almost right out from under me while I slept
-They did something to the ignition lock, found screws, washers, and the bandana I kept around the headlight all on the ground
-It was coasted down an ally
-I've now put up fliers all over the neighborhood
-It's a very distinctive bike, that I rescued from the grave/half assed cafe racer flipping project. I called her my pound puppy
-It's not worth much, even trying to part out,
-Despite all the work I've done it still doesn't run great
Thanks for that perspective! I guess it is an accomplishment to make a beater of a bike something that's apparently worth so much effort to steal.Last edited by Guest; 09-09-2019, 09:10 AM.

Ugh, I hope it turns up and in one piece.
My Cousin experienced an attemped theft of his bike last year up here in N.J. Luckily for him something must have spooked the thieves, because the police found the bike laying on the side of the road a couple of houses down from his with minimal damage.
The police told him that there was a rash of bike thefts in the area at the time.
Good luck.sigpic

Bike has been recovered! But not in great... it's not even rideable. If anyone wants to know the story I wrote the whole thing up and posted it on my FB page https://www.facebook.com/MechMessiah...72122306137607. Thanks for all the well wishes!
