    New '93 GSX1100G owner

I'm here to introduce myself. My name is Sarah, and I just acquired a '93 Suzuki GSX1100G. My previous ride is an '80 Yamaha XJ650G. I'm here looking for information and resources, specifically the best place to get an owner's manual and a service manual to start. I know I will need them. Although the bike "runs", I know I have a list of maintenance to complete before it's 100% safe. I also need a windshield, I'll post that in the appropriate spot soon, too. Thanks ahead of time for any assistance! I'll have many more pictures to share if anyone is interested soon, too!

Thank you! And we're just north of Kokomo, IN, like an hour north of Indianapolis.

I know it. I'm up near Knox. Not too far from you. We typically have a rally in June down in Brown county. It's a little iffy this year with all the joy happening in the world right now. You can find details about this rally in the "Meeting place" section of the forum. There are a lot of great roads to ride, with beautiful scenery down there.

                    Welcome Sarah, Welcome to TheGSR.

Can find used factory manauls on ebay from time to time. Be sure to get one of you year or after, if seems to be an earlier year, check to see if includes supplements up to your year.
FOr the non-factory manauls I would suggest Clymer (if there are such).

Also note that your 93 GSX G is a not like what most of us here will be familiar with. Most of us here are familiar with the late 70s and 80s GS.
Although I understand the shaft drive IS the same design as the 78-84 Gs (and something you need to get familiar with har har har)
Are a few members here that have or had the 90s GSX1100G (in fact is picture posted in this present weeks Picture Of The Week contest)

Do tell us more of your adventures, susch as how this riding expereince compares to the 650.

Thanks for the suggestions, and you're right, I noticed looking for Suzuki forums that the GSX1100G is like, the red headed step child of Suzuki. 😄

It doesn't really fit in perfectly anywhere lol.

I attached another picture of it's good side, and I'll make another post for the other side. The left side is why it was so inexpensive. It got dropped on a trailer, twice! 🤯 just cosmetic damage though.

And wow, how different from my 80 Yamaha XJ650! They're both inline 4 cylinder shaft drive standards, but boy howdy they ride completely different! I thought that XJ was fast, nope, not compared to the GSX! It's hard to keep the front wheel down, but the top heaviness helps. 0-60 mph is 3.1 seconds, this thing is ridiculous! It has a Corbin seat that's really comfortable, but as for long distance riding I would still choose the XJ.

Before I buy any accessories I'm going to try everything I already have on the XJ. I already put on my phone mount, cramp buster and go cruise on the grips. My windshield is universal so it might fit the Suzuki, too, as well as my bag set. I have a full complement of Givi luggage, but they're just the soft, throw over kind, not hard bags unfortunately.

It wasn't bad riding it without a windshield, though. It's definitely 650 pounds of pure, wholesome fun, even as heavy as it is!

I took a short video of my old man pulling it into the barn, I'll upload it to YouTube so I can post it.
