    Hello Everyone!
    I became a GS owner back in 1983 when I bought a leftover 82' black GS650E. Big upgrade from a GT185.
The bike and I became quite interment in a short amount of time. I spent a much time as I could on that bike for 3 years.
I regretted selling it and 2 years ago a good friend gave me a silver 81'. It sat in the corner of my shop at work until a couple of
weeks ago. I made a commitment to get it running this year so I can ride again.
I've pulled the carbs off to have them cleaned and I need to find some side covers for it.
I live about 5 miles from where I grew up in Vermont in the small town of West Rutland.
Short riding season here. Can't wait to get it on the road!

Thanks guys. I have ridden when it was snowing. Just getting old and the bones don't like the cold.

              Welcome to TheGSR.
              THanks for the intro.
              Yes, pics would be nice,

I had 82 GS650G for 20+ years from new. Did not have to work on it any much, so didnt learn too much about it. (then I got an 80 850G and, ah, then I started learning a few things)
THe 650s have some things unique to them, wereas the othert models are more similar to each other.

I think you are about 20 miles from Jedz.
He is an unique guy that buys multiple bikes a year, and rides multiple of them 10-20thousand miles a year each.

Had 850G for 14 years. Now have GK since 2005.

Tried to upload pictures but it doesn't do anything when I hit the upload button. Searched for uploading help on the forum but didn't find anything.

You need to use another site to host the pictures. I wrote instructions on how to use Imgur.com to do this. Link in my signature.

Guess I gotta play with the size when I post pictures.

Yeah, there's a small learning curve, but once you do it a few time, you'll get it down. It helps to put a space (ENTER key on your keyboard twice) after you paste in a picture to give some separation between the pics in your post. But I think you got the idea.

A new seat cover and a set of Superbike/Daytona height handlebars and you will have a good looking ride.
