Vic, welcome.
As far as the mileage in question. At this point in the life of a 30 - 40 year old bike, how its been stored, used, etc, are far more important then numbers. A bike with 1000 miles that lived in a beach town and poorly stored all of its life would be of far less value then a 50k mile bike kept in optimal conditions.sigpic
When consulting the magic 8 ball for advice, one must first ask it "will your answers be accurate?"

You desecrated a temple on which many of the ego's of the purist crowd are inflated. You will suffer male pattern baldness, erectile dysfunction, blindness and your wrists will go limp thereby making you the target of certain epithets. The Suzuki family will send ninja's to kill your family, eat your dog and burn your garage down. All your offspring will be marked for banishment for no less than seven generations and will need to ride 160 cubic inch V-Twins to compensate. Hope it was worth it.....1980 Yamaha XS1100G (Current bike)
1982 GS450txz (former bike)
LONG list of previous bikes not listed here.
I identify as a man but according to the label on a box of Stauffers Baked Lasagne I'm actually a family of four
