Nice looking bike Jim, but isn't it a 1979 model? Difference is VM vs CV carbs and rear set controls on the 1980 model. Also, instruments are a bit different if I recall correctly. Ray

        What are you saying Jim?
Riding the 401 to get a donut at Tim Hortons doesn't work for you?

        Beautiful bike.

Thanks Ghost and well spotted. The bike's paperwork says 1980, but the specs are those for 1979 (at least for U.S. market). Since the bike came from Germany, either the 1980 German model had 1979 U.S. specs, or the bike sat unsold till a year later, and just got registered as a 1980 - dunno....

Steve, alas, the 401 doesn't quite cut it for me However, I've found nice roads in the Lake Simcoe area, though I have to ride for an hour before getting there. Oh well, every move has its compromises and this is just one of them.

This spring, I hope to tour Upstate New York on my way down to visit some friends. There seems to be some nice roads in the Catskill Mountains region.

But this pic is very nice, indeed.
Here's another pic taken at the same location.

              BEAUTIFUL!!

              Yea I'm partial.
Very nice job and nothing over the top.
The gearshift indicated 1979, as the 80 model had the "rearset" type linkage.

              You should be proud.

As to teh Catskills, are nice, buta little further east into Vermont
and some of us New England guys can show you some roads.
