    Yoshimura GS1000 to drool over

Not sure if the owner of this Yoshi-appearing GS1000 is a member here, but this bike is AWESOME!!!
    https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8013/...31e16e28_k.jpg

Down to the relocated shock mounts & billet triples, looks quite up to spec with the Yoshimura team bikes, & also has the same sought after Fox Factory Shox that I will be running this coming season on my
750/920. Very sharp looking race bike.

Apparently flicker won't let me remotely display their photos, as that one just came through as a link...

Bunch of photos of that bike here:

      Beautiful.
Is that lead glommed around the stator cover? Purpose?

That is a very nice looking race bike! Seeing that it doesn't have a charging system I suspect the stator has been removed and the cover modified to give the bike more ground clearance on the left side. That's the beauty of looking at this bike, it is a beautiful blend of form and function.

Lots of info on the Art Robbins bike here.
The bike shows up almost every year at the Toronto motorcycle show in Jan.

Thank you very much for posting up that article. 440 pounds dry and using titanium valve shims... Hmmmm.

Yup...that article is great & shows just how incredible that bike is even without it's engine's history. Wow. Stumbled upon it in a google image search and immediately recognized it's brilliance without any info on it other than the photo.

Yup...speaking of bikes to drool over...??? Moto Martin and Spondon??? I'll have to google those. The BiMoTa SB2 or SB2/80 is the one I hold in highest regard. Far out of my price range though. If the Harris F1 frames (I believe the modern Z1/gs1000 equivalent of the Harris Magnum) came in a frame that could accept a classic looking (stock-appearing) gas tank that covered the top of the perimeter space frame, I probably would have bought one by now.

no way to hide the frames on the Harris F1, they are to nice to hide anyway

The idea of using lighter shims is not to lose overall pounds but, to lose it at the top of the valves.
