    Sept 2016 -- 81 850GL

Photo appeared after a few days showing some error.

    Nice, real nice 81 850GL.

    Says original owner.
Restored after sitting unused for 20+ years.

    Dazzling shiny.

Good photo of great shiney stock bike.

    Says 81, I would have guessed 82.

Congrats to Rolf K of Vancouver BC.

    A Note From The Owner

I am the original owner of this 1981 GS850L Suzuki. I rode the bike daily for 6 years before parking it in my storage shed and forgetting about it.

After being stored for 28 years, it was a shame to see the way it looked. The fuel tank was rusted. The brakes were seized. There was a lot of rust and corrosion all over the bike.

After many, many hours of work, it looks and runs like new again. It's nice to be back on the road.

Congrats Rolf on a nice job on the 850L I have a similar story, rebuilt my 850L after sitting in an open shed for 20 years. Been riding it for 5 years now and it is great to be back in the saddle again. Good to see another one of these in Canada on the road again. By the way, I installed a series voltage regulator this summer. I had put a new shunt regulator in when I rebuilt it but it failed after a few years. The series regulator is much better as it feeds the battery directly and is much more robust than the original ones made for the bike. Happy riding
