Kind'f different, you don't see a lot of "brown" bikes. Though these old brown 850's have always looked good. Congrats on a very nice looking 41 yr. old bike.

Does look nice, and all stock.

I suppose I should like it, as it looks just like the 80 850G I had for something like 17 years, same marroon color (or what we would call marroon, is not what the microfische called it).

(I think the brown ones are 81s.)

Sorry, it looks brown on my computer screen & I knew that Suzuki had a brown GS850. No surprise mistakes are kind'f normal for me these days these days.

Looks brown to me also. I had one just like it for 16 years . Wrecked it and sold it in favor of my former Honda ST1100.
Didn't like the idea of the engine spinning around 5500 rpms at highway speeds.
After test riding the Honda it was only turning 4,000 rpms at the same speed. Also quieter and smoother.

Now I'm back to a high spinning GS1000 that is destined to be with me until I quit riding.

What a clean-looking 850! Congrats to Mr. Trueman on keeping that machine so well. I wish my 850 (which I call the Ratzuki for good reason) looked any appreciable fraction of that good.

                  Thanks everyone for the comments.

I lucked out with this find. A friend of a friend had it sitting in their garage for many years with the intention of getting it running again but never found the time. It sat covered, in a heated garage. When i got to my garage it didn't need much more than regular maintenance to get it going again. Fluids, battery, plugs, filters.... some new tires. The brakes needed the most attention.. a new master cylinder, pads, rebuild kit and lines.

24000 KM when i got it on the road this spring. Just shy of 27000 now.

I am new to motorcycles, and this GS is my first bike. Most people told me i was insane for starting with it, but I have no regrets.
