Inaugural Voyage of my new (to me) 82 GS

Starting Aug 5th myself and two friends are going on a road trip starting from San Diego, Ca.
We are going to Colorado to ride around the Rockies for a couple of days, then on to Lake Powell in Utah to explore some caves that just became uncovered due the water level being the lowest its been in fifty years. The caves have cave paintings from early Native Americans. Once done there we will mosey our way to Montana to check out Glacier National Park. We are taking two weeks off from work, so there is plenty of time to just cruise around and explore.
I am on my 1982 GS1100E that I purchased a month ago. So far I have added a Earls cooler to keep oil temp at 190F at a 80mph cruise speed. Also added Works shocks and fork springs. My two buddies are riding a Triumph Daytona 955 and a BMW GS. We will be quite the group. A Japenese bike, a English bike, and a German bike. The only one we are missing is a Harley.
We will be doing this trip on the cheap. Meaning we are all bringing camping gear with us and only plan to get a room every few days just to shower.
I will post some pics once I take them and if I find computers during the trip I will update this post. Wish me luck. Jon.

Sounds like a great trip you have planned! I've spent time at some of those places you mention. Beautiful scenery. Wish I was going!
Hope you and your buddies have nothing but good times up there.
    Pic's when you come back!
And on the seventh day, after resting from all that he had done,God went for a ride on his GS!
Upon seeing that it was good, he went out again on his ZX14! But just a little bit faster!

That sounds like a fantastic trip. I?ve always thought that if I won the lottery that I?d buy one of those big campers (and a driver) and have the back converted into a workshop with a ramp that lowers so if I see a stretch of road that I like, I could jump on the bike and go.

              GSjon,
You back yet? I live in the Southern Utah area and am curious to know how you handeled the monsoon we had during the time period in question.
