Text messages with my youngest brother Daniel right after he was paralyzed:

Me: Hey Dan-O. Just wanted to say howdy & love ya!

Dan-O: Howdy and Love you too. Doing good, feeling good.

Me: Give 'em hell, Little Bro!

        Dan-O: Roger that! :)

On a stock engine? I didn't realize the 1100's were that fast.
Cool. I wonder what my lowly gs850g is good for?
(ducks to avoid the 'anti racing 850' replies)

                    81 850g?

Yes, I do not know if my 850 is in bad shape but I do not think the back wheel would ever break loose like that. How will an stock 850 do? (I am not going to try it justy wondering if anyone has?

And ...the Old Lady of Drag Racing speaks:

The 1980 1100 Suzuki was said by the mfgs. to do 11.00 seconds, out of the box...
That's with people like Terry Vance, for drivers.
I was parts dept mgr. at a zuke shop then and bought that model...first 1100 zuke ever made, I believe...
(82's were supposed to be a little slower, because the carbs were 2mm smaller...as ordered by our gvmt, cause the 80's were Soooooo fast...Learned this while I worked at the dealership.)

Did you build this bike our buy it like that?...Sorry...I've come in a little late and it may be on another thread. The reason I asked is because obviously something has been done to it. If not the engine, perhaps bigger carbs/jetting, and a header?....Sprokets, like Scotty said also come to mind. They were also advancing the ignition systems back then, by replacing them with one for the GS750. Is the swing arm lengthened? Wheelie bars help al lot..just cause it isn't bored, doesn't mean it can't have mild cams....

Anyway....Next time, when at the christmas tree, you might try making sure you are squarely balanced on the bike and leaning foreward over the tank, as far as you can, while launching. might get another tenth of a second... ( You can practice this in you're garage without looking too foolish in front of the neighbors....Are you powershifting & not using the clutch?

Get rid of ANY extra weight on the bike...cut off mtg brkts not using them, etc............And...

please be careful & HAVE LOTS OF FUN !!!\\/

Just some more observations is case you hadn't picked up on them .Your Fabbed wheelie bar didn't seem squared up with the frame & as you took off the right side which appears lower kissed the pavement first (No rollers) as you noticed on the run ,it lunged to the left.....wonderful time...what have you got your reaction time down to?
