Start out at a speed that is comfortable and work up to it. :-)

2 questions: When did the adrenaline kick in and when you started to "vent" how long was it before you stopped. I hope that guy has nightmares for years.

I stopped about 15 miles down the road at my usual spot for a stretch and a gatorade. :-) The whole incident, from realizing my situation, acting, and flashing past and between the oncoming cars/truck took less than 1 second.
There wasnt any adrenaline. Snap your fingers. Thats the time that was involved. Emotions are best left in a box at home when you ride. Focus and concentrate, always.

Holy S.......glad you pulled thru that.....
This brings to light one of motorcycling dilemmas- while some think limiting seat time may lessen the exposure to risk, it does NOTHING for honing ones skills. Seems that you were quick witted and chose to shoot the gap to safety. Sadly im not sure if I could have reacted as quickly.sigpic
When consulting the magic 8 ball for advice, one must first ask it "will your answers be accurate?"

Lest the elements of luck or instinct be overstated in this amazing story, in fairness , you have been preparing for it by exploring the fine white line. In the time available the decision had to have been subconscious but rehearsed to the point that it appeared instinctive.
Another reason to develop skills. How often do we hear of undercornering and the marine rescue will tell you that in many cases the crew gives up before the boat.
How viral would that footage have been ? ... and can I give the police your number next time they catch me snaking down the road?97 R1100R
