    Blind Sided, Update

So the update as it stands...

I feel much better than I though I would. I just feel like I've been
in a fight and someone got in a good hit to the ribs. No bones broken!
My leg has felt worse after I tried to start running again, so I am
imagining that I will be back to normal relatively quickly, though I
am not the 20's as a few friends have elaborated on...

This morning I got on the phone to find out where my bike was and I
was happy to find that it was about 2 miles away from my ex'es home. I
initially went over on my own just to see the condition of it and by
all visual inspection, the front fender needs replacing, left side
foot peg and the entire rear lighing assembly.

I came back an hour later to start it up and head to my ex'es. She
followed closely behind so I wouldn't get stopped because of no rear
lights. I'm happy to say she rides straight as an arrow and I'm
expecting to have it back on the road in a few days.

It was important to me to get back on the bike asap, as I started to
have thoughts of how vunerable we are sitting on bikes and how quite
easily we can become injured. I never did cross that threshold of
deciding maybe to give it up and once I got back on the bike, I felt
    much much better.

Close One Dude! Could have Been a Lot Worse. I know what You mean about getting back in the Saddle ASAP. After My only street Crash back in 82 I was back on the Bike as soon as the Road Rash Healed Enough that I Could. Needless, some Family and Friends Weren't all that Supportive but It Meant Something to Me! Take Care!

2001 KLR650 too pretty to get dirty

Life is a balancing act, enjoy every day, "later" will come sooner than you think. Denying yourself joy now betting you will have health and money to enjoy life later is a bad bet.

I'm glad you got away with it lightly. The important thing is what you learned about why it happened and how to keep it from happening again.

I would rather sit on a pumpkin and have it all to myself than be crowded on a velvet cushion. H.D.T.
