Irrelevant. (Right before I broke my hips 5 years ago on the Sporty. )
1982 GS1100E V&H "SS" exhaust, APE pods, 1150 oil cooler, 140 speedo, 99.3 rear wheel HP, black engine, '83 red

2016 XL883L sigpic Two-tone blue and white. Almost 42 hp! Status: destroyed, now owned by the insurance company. The hole in my memory starts an hour before the accident and ends 24 hours after.

Almost zero anxiety or depression. Zero loneliness. Zero day-to-day or $ problems. You should be so crazy. And lucky.

You have definitely used up your fair share of luck, but I'll count myself lucky because I still ride.

I wish you luck on your endeavor
From what little I know, GS bikes are scarce and expensive in WA
You'd do best to PMJinks, since he's actually done what you're hoping to do.
            1978 GS 1000 (since new)
1979 GS 1000 (The Fridge, superbike replica project)
            1978 GS 1000 (parts)
            1981 GS 850 (anyone want a project?)
            1981 GPZ 550 (backroad screamer)
            1970 450 Mk IIID (THUMP!)
            2007 DRz 400S

I think a question might be, does it have to be on a GS? I'd imagine KLRs and such are more plentiful.
