I don't know if anyone recalls, but i lost my last motorcycle because my mom found out about it. I was forced to sell but came across a much nicer one that i picked up and was more careful about what my stories were when i rode it. My mom refused to let me have a bike so i hid it from her. But a few weeks ago, the day before i left for college, i left my motorcycle registration on the counter thinking it was my car registration. Whoops...mom found it. She flipped but not as much as i would have thought. Well here i am in college, my motorcycle is still in my buddy's barn and i received a call from my dad. Apparently my mom thinks it would be a good idea to build a barn with a workshop for my motorcycle. I'll be able to get the equipment i need and have a dry warm place to work in the winter. I don't know what changed her, maybe it was me being away from home but i don't have to live in fear anymore and i can truly enjoy my beautiful 1978 gs750. [-o<Tags: None

My Mom is 72, told me yesterday she always wanted to try riding a bike, & asked if I could take her on mine. She also said if she liked it she might get one of those Suzuki Burgman's(sp?) to ride. That's a 100% reversal from when I bought my first bike 28 years ago, she raised heck for 10 years.

When my Mom found out I had a bike, she was very reserved......didn't say yeah or nay (but, I was 50 years old...), I rode out to see her this year on it, to CA and surprised her 2 weeks after Mother's Day.
She has a legitimate concern though, my kid brother died as a result of an accident on a Honda CB750 that he'd only had for three months. He was unplugged a week before his 21st b-day.

Belated condolences Dan. I lost a cousin a couple weeks ago from MC accident. Bummer. His Mom was a wreck.82 1100 EZ (red)

My dad was the one who said "as long as you live under my roof, there will be NO motorcycles."
Before he died, 21 years ago, he knew that I had had several bikes, and that my older sister had ridden a bike when she was in Japan for a year. However, it was after his death that the rest of the family got on two wheels. My mother is now somewhat amused that all four of her kids (my three sisters and me) and all four of their spouses, as well as 4 of the 6 grandkids all ride. \\/
We keep urging her to take a ride some time, and she insists she was only joking when she said she would go before her 85th birthday. That's only a year and a half away, so we'll see... 8-[

I had to move out of the house before I could get a bike.
I wanted a sporty so bad, then realized they weren't all that so I went for anything on two wheels only to have my bubble bursted by my mom.
I said fine, I will build my Mustang faster than a bike would be. Needless to say I won the Anderson Ford Motorsport power adder challenge one year with my mustang. It ran out of fuel and still made 427 to the rear tire... With 500 liters of fuel pumps and 42lb squirters, she should be a solid 450 to the rear tire with a safe tune.
Then came the opportunity to get my SS 750 when I moved out of the house so I jumped on it. Brought it back to life and had a blast, got my Dad's GS running in the mean time so we could ride together. Two summers later came another bike.
Now look, I have a Blue/Blue GLZ and when I told my mom that I bought a new bike she didn't believe me.
Everyone just had to be careful...It's far easier for a moron to make you a MC statistic than a cage statistic.
