Feeling sorry for you guys with frequent rain.....

I just rode home for the first time in torrential rain (it's rained a handful of times here this year).

Only about 4 miles but still miserable when you're not expecting it & it's cold etc.

Did you "get a boot full"?

And I am not even going to ask what your definition of "cold" is.

I had extensive experience getting rained on while riding this Year and what I learned is: #1 Rain gear does little good UNLESS You have it on before You need it which very Unlikely. and #2 Once Your Drawers are soaked and Your Boots are Full of Water You won't get any Wetter so Keep Riding!:-D
      sigpic2002 KLR650 Ugly but fun!
2001 KLR650 too pretty to get dirty

Life is a balancing act, enjoy every day, "later" will come sooner than you think. Denying yourself joy now betting you will have health and money to enjoy life later is a bad bet.

You're right. You can't let it bother you. Not only do you have to maintain the 100% awareness you normally ride with, you can not let your discomfort get in the way. I enjoy the challenge, it keeps you sharp.

Yeah, been there alright, but while you won't get any wetter, you WILL get colder and cccccolderrrrrrrr.

The fast-moving air flowing over a damp surface acts like... shoot, it IS a total-loss cooling system, drawing off more and more heat from your body. Not nice at all, but often only to be endured.

Fact. BTDT. Wearing the most inadequate rain gear made. It was as cold as I have ever been. I had to stop I was shaking so bad. I spilled the first cup of 10 cups of hot coffee. The first thing I did when I recovered was buy a dry rider and now wont leave home without it !

That reminds me of a funny story. 1984. I ran into some rain and picked the next underpass to suit up. There were already 3 gold wings and 6 people suiting up when I pulled up.....waaaay too fast. They all watched me get sideways but I recovered and had my one piece suite out and on in 30 seconds. I never said a word. One winger said "nice Bike". When I took off I gave her a little too much throttle and started fish-tailing back to highway speed. Those wingers were all staring at me with their mouths open like I was from mars.
