Rita takes a fall
So I was changing fork oil today and I guess I wasn't paying attention and didn't realize that the forks were extended and must have been binding a little because when I put a funnel in the top of the fork tube the forks collapsed all at once and my beautiful bike rolled forward off the centerstand (as I stood there with a funnel in one hand and a measuring cup of fork oil in the other) and fell over sideways on to my riding mower. The only damage seems to be the lovely crease in the tank just above the Suzuki emblem. The ironic part is that I really probably shouldn't have beem doing this at all since my new Progressive fork springs are on the way and I could have done it all at once this coming week. Oh well, maybe it would have just happened on Tuesday instead of today if I had waited. If anyone has a decent tank for an '81 850G I'm also putting a post in the Parts Wanted forum.Tags: None

I'm sorry to hear of your incident. When those things happen, it always seems like it's happening in slow motion, and there is nothing you can do but watch.
Incidentally, your 450T is still alive and well. I'm the one who rode up with my friend to buy it last year. He came up last weekend, and I took him on a long tour of every curvy highway in the area.
I just sold my 850GL a couple of weeks ago. I miss it already.
Take care of your G. It was a fine looking specimen as I recall.
If you ever make your way down to the Kansas City area, let me know. Maybe we can get together for a ride and you can see your old girl again.

When changing fork oil, only do one side at a time. :-) That wont happen.

If she had to go over, glad it was in the driveway.
I didn't know the "one at a time rule" until after I had a similar experience .

If it isn't creased too badly can it be pressed out from the inside with compressed air or with "paintless dent removal" tools?
good luck,
