Like a 650 wouldn't make it that far.
Go for it, get towing coverage to pick it up when you drop it.

Life is too short to ride an L.

well, I am 6'5" and about 325lbs, add full travel kit, and Im thinking I would be pushing the 650, especially on any slab runs. Add to that, my wife has said she might be interested in riding pillion.

Does it Snow in LA or is that in some mountain part of GA?

Doesn't snow in Louisiana, BUT, we had 4" on Dec 11th, which was unbelievable.
Anyway, this pic was taken 4 miles from Deals Gap.

Yep, colors are a bit wild, but, it's all original and I don't want to respray it.
Will give update on how it handles soon.

              Phil.

Geez, I like the colors, don't know why.

And you'll be seen on the road too.

                Nice find.

Here's what I have done so far to the KLR.
Changed the seat from an 05 model, so it's now black, changed the fork gaiters to black, put front 25W spot lights on, changed the tires to Avon Distanzia's.
Front braided line (original one sucked)
Full service and lubed up the rear suspension and got full insurance ($170) and lic plate.

It starts up 1st time (electric start) and idles perfect once warm.
It rides awesome and no flat spots, Ive ridden it to 75 mph and it holds well, I'm taking it out this weekend (weather permitting) on a 200 mile run, so I'll know more then and will advise more, will post the new pix of it this weekend for ya.

Cool, much sharper with the black seat/gaiters. Dig the spot lights too! The front indicators have partly clear lenses?

                        Tony.

Yeah, centers of the lenses are clear.

I'm a big fan of the Distanzias, too. Just as much stick on pavement as a street tire, and pretty dang good gription in gravel and such. Not a knobby, but better than you'd think.

Man, that bike looks sweeeeeeeet. Did you install an upgraded doohickey yet? I know I wouldn't be able to sleep at night until I did.
