Motorcycle Classics Magazine: 1978 Suzuki GS1000

I just received the Motorcycle Classics magazine Mar/April 2009 issue and there in the lower left corner on the cover is a small photo of a 1978 Suzuki GS1000C. The article named Survivor begins on Page 16 and the owner is Tom Murphy. I am sorry I don't know Tom by GS Forum handle but I am sure someone does. His bike seems to be nearly stone stock, something this magazine values.

On the last page, The GS Resources are listed in The Resource section.
I never responded to the thread "Why did your buy your GS'" but this quote from the Press Reports influenced me greatly.

"The GS1000 is damn near perfect. It does everything well, which makes it unique, and it doesn't cost much money, which makes it a charm."

    Cycle, March 1978

      Try here:

I've been a subscriber for a little over a year and like the magazine so far. Mainly European bikes, but they always have a UJM in every issue. I renewed.

I have been a subscriber of the mag for about 8 years now, perfect mag with lots of info, unlike the new mags that basically repeat themselves going on about gixxers/R6/R1 etc etc it gets boring all the new crap out there.
I love the 80's stuff, just like my GS1000 and RZ350...........
But eventually will get the Kawasaki Z1R......

Forgot to mention, if your a member of the VJMC their latest quarterly mag has a huge write up on the GS ride out and plugs the GSresources.
Oh, Motorcycle mechanics mag can be purchased at Barnes & Nobles, if they have not got it in stock, they will order for you.
