This rider was waved to by a passing group of classic GS bikes and wisely brought his bike to a complete stop before returning the wave, showing perfect safe form for returning the gesture when riding an HD style bike. Unfortunately, the GS's had already vanished over the crest of the road behind him.

The "real" reason they don't wave back...

      Why Harley Riders Don't Wave
Hey!! look at me, cool dude harley rider, no, I'm not waving at you, just making sure you get my picture right after i catch those rice burner sportbikes! I'll be back to get it! Chill.

Oh no, I forgot what happens when you take one hand off the bar too long, I also forgot what happens when you chase rice burners, those super comfortable foot boards lift your front wheel off the ground.

Eject!, Eject!, Eject!, Ahh it's ok, I have my regulation Harley Uniform on, MY SKIN!!

Some of you may have heard of this rant by Adam Carolla. Other than the dubiously colorful language, it's very entertaining -- and right!

Wow, I don't know how those guys do it. Ridding out there on all that clear and dry pavement.

Must be that technique where they hike out in the turn. Yea when you lean the bike over and you counter lean to pick the bike back up.

Humm looks like he planted his right foot rest and lifted the front tire due to the excessive lean angle (that he was trying to counter lean to). Humm, maybe Harley guys should just stick to the straight.

Errrrrr....... they don't seem to do the curves so well.

I watched the Corolla clip again. The pane to the right showed a couple of HD riders are Deal's gap. Some of you have seen it before.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

I've gotten polite, if seemingly unenthusiastic, return waves from the Harley crowd. But, I'm a new rider. Maybe they can tell and are just being nice.

Good thing he was wearing his ultra-protective official Harley-Davidson wife-beater shirt. He woulda got hurt otherwise..........ATGATT, a Harley standard.

I've never actually seen anyone on a Harely attempt to pass another vehicle before.

Bill, is this test? Do you really think he got into the turn too hot, too quick, got into the the dip on the inside of the road instead of staying high on entry and thus compressed the suspension, lost all his limited ground clearance and spit himself off. Or do you want the technical answer "Don't do that $hit on HD"?
