A ride in the Texas heat!!
Only GS freaks Russell and Joe aka.( Russr33 and jwhelan65 ) would veture out for a ride in 100+ temps of Texas in July. But than again, I can't think of a better way to kill a Saturday afternoon than riding around on GS 1000s...even if it isn't mine. Russell hauled both bikes up from Houston because mine don't run!!!. A couple of awesome machines..great job on both bikes Russ!!

Nice "old school" looking bikes!
I guess I'm used to my colder temps up here. I don't think I'd do well down there with that heat, but do envy you guys come Dec-Feb.

Summer temps here are often in the high 30*C range (100*F +). That's the best time to ride I reckon, I love it. *sheesh* you 'mericans are soft.
Big fan of both those bikes. They both feature on my computer as part of my 'screensaver slideshow' of bike pics I've collected.

It was damn hot, but a good time. Yeah the Cooley was having some carb issues early on. Not bad but definitely some flat spots and it's running lean. It did seem to clear itself there late and started to pull good. That bike has a 1085 kit and the stock '78 was walking away from it early on. Really just need to put the 36mm flatslides I just got on it.
Glad I got to meet you Joe. As cool of a guy as I always figured you to be. We'll definitely do that again once it cools down a little. Just don't bring me and my poor bikes down any more gravel roads ok?!?!

Man that road sucked, they ruined one of my favorite little runs. That drop off down to the Blanco river was pretty cool though huh? We will have to head out to the Leakey area for a real hill country ride when it cools off. Great time!!
