    Priceless phone call.

This just popped into my head and made me laugh. So I hope it'll make someone laugh.

While I was on vacation last week (Delmarva Bike week), I was out with my buddies on Monday getting food to stock the fridge. We're walking around and my cell goes off. Its my ex-wife. Great, what the hell does she want. She called to tell me that her car (67 Mustang) was stolen from her house last night. Apparently, she went out with whats-his-nuts and stayed at his place. When she got home, the Mustang was gone. The only thing I told her was to call the cops and the insurance company. "There's nothing I can do for ya. I'm down here and not coming back for a week." She wasn't too happy about that but again I reminded her, "we're no longer together and the car is your problem. Not mine."

Maybe whats-his-nuts will help her out........

I call my ex's husband my ex-husband-in-law. Luckily, both my ex-wives and I are on good terms. My first one is the mother of my daughter, so we talk frequently. And I never see the second ex-wife, which is a good thing.

Give it some time, life goes on for you both.

I wonder how long it took her before she called. You could make that into a master card commercial. Priceless

What exactly was she expecting you to do?

Let me run up the value of that call a little more for ya.

Fact #1: Whats-his-nuts is aware of the fact that she owns a 67 Mustang.

Fact #2: Whats-his-nuts may have discussed the existence and location of said car with one or more of his "friends".

Fact #3: Whats-his-nuts asked her out with the intention of convincing her to spend the night at his place.

Fact #4: Whats-his-nuts may have discussed the impending date and his intention to get her to spend the night at his place with one or more of his "friends".

Fact #5: Because of Facts 2 and 4; Whats-his-nuts' "friends" may be aware of the car's location and what night it will be "home alone".

But of course this is all just wild speculation. I'm sure that the car's disappearance on the one night that she leaves it "home alone" for the first time in no telling how long is just a coincidence.

              two possible things I see

              A. it was actually a call to ensure that it was really stolen and not that you had come and taken it for a spin.

              B. what's-his-nuts has not yet replaced you in the support dept. for better or for worse.

I should elaborate a lil more on the Stang. It didn't run for one thing. The battery is dead and she won't pay for another one (cheap ass). Two, the tags are dead, so you can't really drive it anyway.

snowbeard- I think she did but I think the car was stolen when I was in Ocean City, 3 hours away. Sacrifice riding time to steal a car, I'll pass.

tkent02- I gave her the 67 cuz my 70 is in perfect running condition. Here she is for everyone's enjoyment.

Tell here to check ebay for it in pieces.

seriously, you must have had a list of responses to that query. laughter would have been an easy one.

Not insured, or maybe a scam?

Perry Mason would ask if the car was insured, if it were that would begin this weeks episode. If not, who cares, no story in that.

I would check with the PD to see if they towed it.. Other wise it was probably stolen for it's parts
and you will find a shell in the future

So someone towed the car from the driveway? The crooks must be getting pretty desperate these days, or as Lynn suggests, maybe the city towed it away.
