    Back in the day...

Before the days of DUIs and politically correct the wife and I used to tour on our 82 GS850L, it had a vetter fairing, nice backrest, and small carrier. We were coming back from the western slope one day, when I saw the horizon bearing Summer thunder storms. We had a our rain gear, so not worried, except for the wife who has a total irrational fear of lighting. I pull into a small town and decide to pick up some blood warmer just in case we get chilled (pint of apricot brandy), the wife puts it in her back pocket and off we go.

About five miles down the interstate we start to run into the storm, I pull over and we change into our rain gear, all the time my wife is blubbering we should turn around, too much lighting, scared half to death! Finally I get her to settle a little and we head into the storm, it is pretty bad, I roll off the throttle, try to stay out of the ruts, doing thirty five, sometimes slower, this goes on for about thirty minutes. She is real quiet back there, then starts telling me how great it is, how all these people don't know what their missing in their cars, the fresh air, the spray, and so on... I am thinking, cool, she finally is relaxing.

We roll out of the rain about ten miles down the road and start changing out of our rain gear. I ask her for the bottle for a little nip to warm me up, she hands it to me, thats all it had, a little nip!!!!! No wonder she was relaxing so well, all she could do was giggle.........

Great story. My GS850L has seen its share of rain, thank goodness they are nice and heavy so it doesnt get blown around alot or tend to lift when it really starts to pour

Back in the 80's when we went out partying my wife at the time would get raunchy, rip roaring, life of the party drunk right up to the moment she.......passed out. There was no in between. Fortunately my bike had a luggage box on the back. It was fairly easy to bungie her on the back for the trip home.
Believe in truth. To abandon fact is to abandon freedom.

That kinda reminds me of my second wife.......which is a big reason why I now have a third wife.

Yeap, I have had my fall asleep more than once on the back of the old Cavalcade, every once in awhile I would hear a snore through the intercom...
