65 degF in Mich! GK in sunset. Pics, no story.

65 degrees on a Sunday afternoon - In Michigan - in November - partly sunny - in November - In Michigan.
Got out for a short ride. About 35 miles to just into Grand Rapids and then 35 miles back. Some nice curves on a couple roads that somewhat follow the Grand River. This is one place that lends itself to posing a picture.

Sunset at Lake Michigan beach (parking lot at the beach, not really on the beach, but enough sand blown over parking lot to look like beach beach)

Trying to get shot with sunset and my reflection in tank. And now I see Also got the two harleys & riders reflected in fairing. They were doing a good job of ignoring me.

Take 65* in Michigan in November anytime you can get it! It was considerably warmer than that here Today and yes, I went for a nice 120 mile ride!
    sigpic2002 KLR650 Ugly but fun!
2001 KLR650 too pretty to get dirty

Life is a balancing act, enjoy every day, "later" will come sooner than you think. Denying yourself joy now betting you will have health and money to enjoy life later is a bad bet.

      Nice pics....and bike, too!
At first, I thought that the lamp post reflection was the Harley's "some serious" ape hangers...

I see you have "Modern" grips. I will look into that.

Your seat is black. Original dyed or recovered? If it's new I want some of that.

        DP,

The grips are "Grand Touring". Have been around since 80's. I first saw them in early 90s, and I have had them ever since, got an other pair as soon as I got this bike. Not only is the shape nice, but the fact that they are softer makes it easy to hold with little effort. Really eliminates hand fatigue.
I have recently seen them in Dennis Kirk clearance sale, so maybe DK not going to carry them any more.

Seat is original as far as I know. On '82 GKs they were black, early 82s anyway.

        >>>>>>>>>>Later note. From Dennis Kirk online. in the closeout section. I see the manufacturer is "Sunline" and now the model is Grand Touring.

        CLOSEOUT!
        Was: $12.99
        Now: $11.69
Sunline Grand Touring Grips for 7/8 in. Bars
        Dennis Kirk Part #: 611045
        Manufacturer Part #: 3604001
        Special Closeout Pricing!

Motorcycle Superstore also has them. Also has bigger/better photo of them.

To fit on GK, if you want to retain the bar end weights, have to cut off the end of the grips.
