Oz road trip on my 82 1100g

Hi, Heres a picture of my 82 1100g that I have just taken on its first long road trip. I rode from the Gold Coast to Hawks Nest, just north of Newcastle, 1250km round trip. I spent 2 days there then rode back. The fuel use was pretty good, I averaged 5.7 litres per 100kms. I was very surprised with how it went. I was hoping I'd found all its gremlins in the 4 months I've owned and it seemed I had. In that time Ive cleaned all the electrics, replaced the coils with dyna greens, cleaned out the carbies and caught up on all servicing. All while following the tips from this great website. In some areas I was able to sit on 120/130 kms hr which it seemed to prefer than 100kms hr. At that speed everything smoothed out both the sound of the engine and the vibrations in the handle bars

Now thinking of venturing further down the east coast of Oz when it cools down a bit....thats the weather not the bike.

    Great Touring Bike

Nice ride Bonzo. With the electrics sorted you have a reliable touring bike that will get you where ever you won't to go in comfort.

Keep an eye out for the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club members in your area and lots of GSR members in Queensland and down Sydney way.

Did you take the coast road there and back, or did you go inland?
