Thank god its almost done. Still have to make a title for it. I have the form on a pdf file, i just have to fill it out with my dad and send it in. I delivered the parts to the guy that i am having rebuild the motor. I can't find the head gaksets anymore so i don't want to mess up the job with the gaskets i got so i just let him do it. Plus, i don't know how to compress rings or hone an engine cylinder. Anyway, i should get the motor back soon and i'll be able to install it and start it up. I found a cdi box and tested it on my old bike that i sold. It worked fine. This parts bike needed a new signal generator too. It only sparked on one coil. I bought a used rectifier that will probably need replaced the first week i have the bike running
The rectifiers are know to be bad on this model of bike. I still need to buy side pannels and tires for it. I think i'll pop the dents out of the tank with a broom handle or somthing. Im gonna re-paint it the factory black and red color that it is now. I have to go through the brakes and re-allign the spindles and put some anti-seize in there. The carbs were rebuilt by my uncle because i was scared to take out the jets myself so i jusy cleaned up the float bowls. According to him, the carbs are brand new in condition. I need to buy mirrors for it. I just get some clamp ons from bike barn. They look cool. I'm gonna make my own side pannels out of metal from my shop class at school. I'll cut out the shape i want and bend the metal so i have tabs to mount them to the frame. I'm going to put straight drag bars on it and im going to get rid of the gauges and put a tachometer on it that i can get from harbor freight for 9 dollars. Looks cool and it has a back light. I bought another bike for 100 bucks that needs some work. Its a 1979 CB650. Need to take the police auction form in to get my title. My mom is going to give me 400 bucks for my birthday from my mom and my dad said he would float me another 250. With that money, i'm going to buy the motorcycle that i plan to ride for the rest of my life. Its a 1979 KZ1000. It has all of the body work and a title. It needs a good cleaning and it needs some paint. The carbs need cleaned and it needs spark plugs too. He said it needs the header put back on as well. Should totally rock. This summer, im going to post a few pics of the GS300L, CB650, and the KZ1000 when they are all running an look somewhat good.
Wish me luck guys and thanks for reading,
KT
