GS850 donated to charity/never received receipt :(

I think it was in 2006, I donated my 81 GS850G to charity. They were supposed to send me a receipt for it for tax purposes, but I never got it. At the time the bike had had base and head gaskets replaced, because I initially had blown the head gasket on it, then later the base gasket started to leak. I had this done at least twice, and that's why I ended up getting rid of it. I wish I had discovered this site back then, I probably would have kept it, but I had a one year old boy at the time who took up most of my time I wonder if I should maybe call the police department and see if I might get it back. Hmmm...

Typically they have to do extra paperwork for the tax stuff, and if you called them after the first of the year after they would have gotten you the stuff.

Nothing you can do now as receipt or not it was a gift, the receipt is just so you can put a number to the value and prove it went to a not for profit company.
