    Got shed roof done.

    Back not hurting any more.

    Sunny and 60 degrees.

    Have day to myself.

    Go for ride.

Lake Michigan beach. Work crew from jail putting up snow fence.

Did find some fall color here and there.

    Muskegon River, just outside Newaygo.

This was the destination. THe Jerky store in downtown Newaygo.

Some of the roads between Muskegon and Newaygo.
These are the roads that Greg78GS750 gets to ride everyday on way to work. I got to ride them on occassional days that I don't work.

      Nice country…

Hey Dave, do you live near Muskegon?
I've only been through Muskegon on my way north. Those roads look good and I like the river too.
MY bike's a real teaser when I'm getting ready for work, or working in the garage and see it sitting there. I might waste a quarter hour adjusting something or just zone out.

15 miles south of Muskegon, next town.

Are some nice roads along Grand River here closer to home, but only a few miles here and a couple miles there.

So I looked at map a little further north and saw what looked like might be some nice roads along the Muskegon River, and have been riding up there too.

                  Simon,

I have seen your comments about Brown County for next year.
Will be good to meet you.
(I think I could go next year, have gone before, but not in last couple years).

I would think that if you are in Indiana in May for Brown County, and if you are looking for someplace to go after that, that you will not want to go north from there, but will probably want to go south, given the typical temperatures that time of year.

Are a few interesting places to ride around here (west Michigan), but not many. Is more interesting roads a lot further north of here even.

                      Hi Dave,

Thanks for your pictures. Except for a blast up to Bakersfield to see chef1366, I've ridden only to work and back this summer since getting my bike back on the road. That's OK. I'll go on a few nice winter rides and post pictures for all of my friends back east.

                      Thank you for your indulgence,

                          Cliff,
So only one adventure ride this year. But a lot of commuting.
That sounds like what I used to do. BUt now not riding to work much.

Speaking of Bakersfield, and speaking of your bike, you might want to look at "AsiaFish" posting and pictures of his bike (in "owners").

Yes, post some picture of your "winter" rides. I do enjoy those. Although it seems that you usally post those on days that I was either snowblowing or scrapping ice.

                          Dave

                          Eli,

Store has one counter of jerky strips, one counter of jerky sticks, one counter of dried fish, and one counter of sausages. Each counter is 4 to 6 foot long, the refridgerated display case like at a butcher shop.
I say I go there to get some to share with my son. Either he takes it all when he is here, or I eat it all before he visits, so seems that I can go back there anytime to get more.

Rode there and went to the jerky store with Greg78gs750 last week.
Do you have a great road adventure that you would like to share? How about a bike repair gone bad? Put your story here and share it with the rest of us.

                          I got some jerky.
He seemed dissintersted. Then he took a sample taste. And then he bought two large quanitys.

I like to checkout what is unique to an area. Isnt every place that has a jerky store downtown.

                          Dave

                            Michigan weather…

Hey Dave, how late into the fall do you keep riding?
I can't even remember last year, but I think it'll be polar-bearable until mid December.

Hiya Bill, I used to ride in lot colder than I do these days. SOmething happend to me a few years ago, maybe it was the fact that I had pnuenomia that winter, or may it was my 50th birthday.
ANyway, these days may go for a short ride at 40 degrees, but longer ride will want it in upper 40s maybe 50.
And once I see salt on roads, the GK doesnt come out of the back corner of the garage for the season. Maybe take Shadow500 for short ride on occassion. But GK doesnt come back out till about April. --heavy sigh--

Aside from the temperature, the other complication I have in going for a ride is the Household Activitys Committee.

Tommorow (Sunday) is predicted to be unseasonalby warm in the upper 60s, but scattered showers. Have other plans also.

Would be good to get together for a ride sometime.

                              Dave
