Was 46 degress, so didnt know how far I was going to go.
(else I would have called, Greg).

Stopped in one place along Muskegon River for pictures.

Looks like past the season for fall color, eh.

      Hi Dave

Really nice countryside for riding through! Must be the best (and cheapest) therapy from work-related hassles to go riding on those roads. It looks like it's nearly time to get the chainsaw going again after sorting it out roughly the same time last year - hope that carb is still behaving!

Hey, Ben, Good to hear from you.

Yes, we are heading into winter (opposite of you). And, yes, going for ride is therapy. Biggest stressor at work latley is the lack of work, and customers beating us up when we quote a job.

It was just today I was telling someone about you, .... or more specifically about I am on this on this forumn for 1980's Suzuki motorcycles (easier to explain if describe it that way) and post a question about router set up and then chat with people acrost the country about it. I qive an answer about motorcycle charging system on another posting and end up chatting with someone from Nortern Irleland. And post a question about my chain saw carburator and end up chatting with a guy from South Africa that uses same made of carb on race carts (you).
Saw ran fine for several days of usage last fall, here at home on a couple occassions, at church property a couple occassion and at the the works property.
And just last week had a couple more trees blow over (could be called "dead fall") close to my back yard.
If hard to start this time I should have a lot better understanding of it all. Thanks Again.

        Dave

Hi Dave, it's your Irish political history tutor here hahaha!,glad to see that you are out and about on a nice bike on some interesting roads, the camber looks like it could be entertaining at decent speed.Sadly I'm off the road until I can repair my exhaust and put the car through it's inspection, had one of those CRACK-'that doesn't sound good' moments today working on the brakes one of the sliding pins on the caliper had siezed and sheared off in the mounting bracket-easy to remove with a zip gun but a pain as I now have to wait 2 days for a new one, but hey who cares in 3 weeks we go to Hamburg,Germany for a week of RnR.Enjoy what's left of your riding season and be careful of that chainsaw! Johnny

              Very cold weather pants…

Hey Dave, I'm getting teased this week by the warm sunny weather.
About your overpants, my final layer for only the very coldest days is some quilted overalls or ski pants. They're so warm that if I go into a gas station to pay for gas, I'll start to sweat in 1 minute. But I look like the Michelin man-astronaut.
But you know that would only be one of those rare winter days when the roads are dry and free of salt.

                Love West Michigan

                Hey Dave! Great pics!

I graduated from Mona Shores High School, and I was the only kid in school who had a motorcycle.

I spent a LOT of time riding between Muskegon and Fremont (girlfriend at the time lived there) and had a blast. I really enjoyed it.

Now I live in Chicago, and would kill for some quality riding time in a place so beautiful.

I guess when I get my bike on the road this spring, a road trip is in order. She's coming along nicely, and I can't wait to ride.

                      I did some riding! 2-19

                      Hey Dave!
I got my so dependable 1100G out for a couple 20 min. rides Saturday-2-19.
Clear, sunny and dry, but after 15 min. my finger tips got painful.
I was all set to take my JUST PAINTED '93 GSX750F for it's first ride of the year.
Tried to start it but the carbs were leaking like a baby's diaper! Then the starter shorted out! I had the bike all tuned up great just last December!
I took the starter out Monday and it's bum, an internal short.
I just bought a salvaged starter on eBay for $55 W/shipping. Can't ride now anyway, because we got more snow.

i use a pair of snowboarding pants, thwy are basically the same construction and have zippered vents to cool down on the inner thighs. an added plus is they look like a pair of jeans and i have a pair that are a bright neon red. oh and no michelin man action.

So they kind of blend in with cargo pants, I mean if they weren't neon red. That sounds cool. I can't stand looking like gear geek in public, so I'm slowly changing my stuff to look common place.

                                Hondo,

Bufflao Bill is the Micigander that went for ride the other day, not me.

My bike is in the far back corner of the cold cold garage. And the carbs are on the work bench in the basement, so, I am not going for a ride anytime soon.

                                Bill,
Oh, man, and you did all that work and painting, and ... then .. she no go.

Well, maybe next time we have a warm-up.

                                Dave
