    Why I Bought This

Back in my teen yr's my uncle had a 85 GS1100E he bought it off the show room floor and the next day he tore the motor apart and completely rebuilt it with racing cam , racing piston's and anything that would make it run fast . Sometimes i'd go visit for a day and he would pull it out and fire it up and he'd lock the front brake down and burn the rear tire off but some how he'd switch gear's while standing still and the rear tire would still be smoking . To this day he still has it but never rides it but his son does .

But i found mine but it's an 83 GS1100GLD i'll never give it up . all it need's is carbs rebuilt and over head cam cap gasket's replaced and a few touch up's . I bought this off of CL for a $1,000.00 with 31,*** but it was sitting in storage for 10yrs . The best deal i came across

      Welcome to GSR.

Good thing about a bike in storage for 10 years is that is 10 years that maybe it didnt get damaged. Bad part is that it sat for 10 years. So you will have some things to work on.

      We like to see photos.

So, did you get the 1100 so you can do burn outs?

        Hi,

Mr. Redman knows that it's not a good idea to do burnouts with an old GS shafty.

Be sure to check your "mega-welcome" in one of your other threads for the lists of things you need to check, repair, replace, service, clean, etc, on a bike that's been sitting for that long. Merry Christmas to you.

        Thank you for your indulgence,

I have had some experince with G shaft drive, but not specifically doing burnouts. Have had direct expereince with trying to push start a 1100G and having it go putta-putta-putta (engine sound) then go krunch-crunch-crunch-tick-tick-tic-tic-t-t-t then coast silently like it was in netural. Then learnt about the splines in the rear hub in the rear wheel.
