    1982 gs 650g

To you all out there......Many thanks.

With your help I have resurrected the 650G. It is a lovely ride, quicker than it looks and superb handling. Will post pics soon. Have since added 1200 miles and the clock reads a total of 12,866 miles.

In the future might add progressive rate springs to front, replace rear dampers and if I m feeling rich spray paint the tail piece which is highly faded and matted with the sun.

Done to date, replaced fork seals, tyres (IRC Durotour) and valves, rebuilt carbs and petcock, airfilter, rear brake pads, hydraulic fluid, seat cover and the usual oils in engine and shaft.

Some things I m looking for are the circular covers for the swing arm bolts and the measurments of the original handlebar. The one I have is a Euro style bar, which works a treat but is too low for me.

    One again thanks.

If you want a taller bar I suggest the Daytona model by Bikemaster. My local dealer has the various models on display so I compared them. The Euro model is the lowest (besides the Drag bar) then the Superbike, which is slightly taller. The Daytona is the tallest of them all with the most pullback, and appears closest to my OEM bars.

Kool Aid, Thanks for that! Am looking at the Bikemaster site now and comparing the sizes. Much obliged.
