My GF's car recieved a Tesco's kiss (bump in the supermarket Car park) and that at first was straight forward then turned into a fight.
It will get messy as she gets time to rethink it all.

This is my fear. The one saving grace is he did get insurance info. I would fill this form out, print it, and file it with the state.

I am fine, with the exception of my confidence, and some road rash on my knee.

I'm sorry...but this is what I do all day (the body stuff)....the bike can be completely fixed...you cannot...your body may look healed, but it will heal with secondary scar tissue...this may give you trouble now or may accrue compensatory physical issues in the future. As you slammed the ground (people always underestimate the impact due to fight or flight causing amnesia type syndrome) not only did you most likely injure the shoulder, but your neck bent in the direction it does naturally the least....sideways. You most likely will have an increase in pain over the next few weeks. Takes about two weeks...unless you are under 29 yrs old wherein your systemic enzyme system will delay ramifications until you are 28 when these enzymes peter out. Therefore, get someone to authorize/prescribe an MRI of the shoulder neck and knee immediately...just like you would check the triple tree alignment. This will not only check these systems for alignment and injury but will also document the injury for future possible litigation....no arguing....do not, not get her insurance...you must file a claim immediately to protect yourself....I always suggest to take pictures of the scene immediately, especially if cops are not called and even if they are. Please file a police report. Don't beat yourself up if you haven't done this stuff...most of us had to learn the hard way....Unfortunately you may find the bike is the cheapest and easiest thing about this to repair...I'm always available to pm....

What he said. If this was your grandmother, then maybe avoid the insurance company. But you owe her nothing. Go to the doctor, file the reports, maybe even get a lawyer. Oh, and glad you are "ok".

YEP!! I got rear ended by a truck in stop n go traffic. He was probably only going 15 MPH.. no biggie. I was fine... then I noticed a little lower back stiffness a few days later... then some soreness... then some muscle pain... then connective tissue amd joint pain... and then it moved up the back and into the neck. Then it just felt wierd and hurt in general for a few months. and "went away" slowly. I was about 43 at the time.

Don't discount the effects of these "minimal impact" wrecks.

So are you saying that if I injure myself now (22) in the same manner as the 'low impact' crash, I will heal up just fine. Until I turn 28 and then my body will feel the long term affects and be broken?

Glad that you are mostly Ok from the incident. If nothing else learn that falling hurts, so wear your gear. Always be super alert when riding.

Yep, you wake up on your 28th birthday like you have the worst Coyote hangover and it lasts for the rest of your life... getting old sucks. Especially if you were wild and stupid to your body growing up.

The fact that your bike didn't make contact with her vehicle muddies the scene. With time, her version of what happened and whether you had to fall will morph towards a story more favorable for her. She may even forget that she entered the right hand lane. Probably ought to start now in documenting whatever you can.

I thought about that very thing after I read the initial post. She can probably just walk away from the whole thing without having any liability

Did you make any progress?

Because like others said...she could flip sides at any moment, deny everything...and unless you have some solid information, she might not be responsible.
(you do have her insurance information, so she can't deny be involved in some kind of incident, because why else would you have it?)

You just can't trust people anymore, that's all I'm trying to say.

You might be screwed already or liable for a fine of you bring it to court, because you didn't call the police.(if your state has mandatory law for such)

Another reason to always call the police is to protect your own ass!
She could have been under the influence of prescription drugs or anything...And if a police officer was there, this would change everything.
Plus you have a 3rd person to verify everything incase she tries to twist her story around.

I know people hate calling the police...but they could really shut her down quick if she flip-flops.
